Abstract

We have seen a tendency in Christian circles in recent years for the theme of spirituality and culture to be increasingly drawn together. For the ethnic minorities of modern Britain, culture and religion can seem contiguous, with the one supporting the other, while, for the Christian, culture often seems to carry the values of secular humanism and to lie precariously within the contested zone of social and national ideals.
