Abstract

This output is an example of 'performance-photography', a relatively new field of practice pioneered by Jeff. It deconstructs the convention of photographic practice understood in spatial terms, and explores the temporal by working over a duration of time. The photographs were recorded by Jeff and his collaborator, dancer Sarah Dowling, as they played out the performance over a period of 24 hours. The project is ongoing because of the fact that the performance took place in private, and its status as an event relies upon re-staging in order to re-activate it in the public domain.
