Abstract
This paper re-examines Building 1 at Aredhiou, focusing on the pottery and other artefacts in association with the architecture. Previously, Building 1 has been interpreted at the supra-household level, focusing on work and storage areas rather than engaging with the possibilities of domestic activities. Here however, I reassess Building 1 at the domestic level. I propose that the structure be re-identified as an example of a House (Levi-Strauss 1982), which apparently dominated production activities at the site. My aim is to better understand the nature and organisation of domestic production and other activities in the LBA rural hinterland, thereby allowing us to consider the daily lived experiences of the ordinary Cypriot.
