Abstract
This chapter investigates the question of whether a global revolution occurred across the Ancient Indian Ocean world during the final centuries BCE. A revolution not defined by a single event (or series of interconnected events), but rather by a long-term transformation that culminated in a highly interconnected ancient world, one which was increasingly discernible by the start of the first millennium CE.
